Rooting your T-Mobile G1 or myTouch 3G Android phones is simple by all accounts as long as you follow instructions. It consists of two steps, with the first step having two options. Step one consists primarily of replacing your recovery image and the two options for this are that you can do so either automatically or manually. Automatically is by far a lot quicker and easier but may also leave you susceptible to certain security loopholes that could cause potential headaches down the road.

US Android 1.5 Cupcake Update How To

If you didn't know now you know. The Android 1.5 cupcake update is being pushed out, but if you can't wait for T-Mo to bless you with the goods this is how you can update it yourself. We are not responsible if you brick your phone use at your own risk and make sure you have plenty of juice (battery).

Cupcake (Android 1.5) Update Rolling Out Today?

Apparently, T-Mobile has began rolling out the Cupcake update OTA, just not in the US. We spoke with a T-Mobile rep that said the update is not currently being pushed to US customers

The Android 1.5 update will include some cool new features such as an onscreen keyboard, a video recording app, the ability to upload videos directly to YouTube and much, much more.

We will be looking out for the 1.5 update and report back as soon as its official for the United States Tmo Customers.

1. Holding the home button brings up your 6 most recent apps.



2. To activate the magnify glass on the browser click the trackball twice.



3. To make ringtones, alerts, and notifications make a folder inside your memory card each one containing there own name such as “ringtones” “alarms” “notifications”.



4. Turning off the GPS saves battery life to do so go to Menu, Settings, Security and Location.



5. To rename a folder on the homescreen click and hold the dock at the top of the folders name.
