AT&T Wireless - Quickfire On Sale Today

Early this afternoon, one of our ninjas informed us that the Quickfire is already being sold at an AT&T wireless store. The super slick Sidekick rival was spotted in a small town. In order to protect his/her identity, I will not be disclosing the exact market or store, but trust me...people do have them activated, in hand. We have obtained some pics of a shiny new Quickfire being prepped for a happy customer.

Since there was no concrete release date, the store was able to display and offer the Quickfire as soon as they received them early this afternoon. Most of us thought it would not be available until Nov.11th. We made a few calls to larger markets and they were not aware of the phone being sold early.

AT&T is selling the UtStarcom device for $100.00 after a $50 MIR with a new 2 year contract.

The AT&T Quickfire is a quad-band GSM slider with QWERTY keyboard. It features a color touch display, 1.3 MP cam, the ability to send/receive email, mobiTV and AT&T Navigator. Check out the spy shots below...

AT&T Quickfire

I've had this phone for 4 months now and i totally want a new phone. The touchscreen is extremelly frustrating. It is accurate, but only 50% of the time. Great phone for texting but again when you have to use the touchscreen to hit "reply" the sensitivity is off and hits delete instead. Very frustrating if your in a hurry. I personally don't like the phone because of the touchscreen, all the other features are great, like the keypad. Another thing im not to happy about is the thickness of the phone. The phone is about 1" thick.
Lately, AT&T has sent us quickfire carriers a new and improved charger because some fire were being started due to overheating of the old charger. Bottom line...im trading my phone in as soon as i can. I've read alot of reviews about this phone and it sounds like its not that great of a phone, according to hundreds of other people.

Earpiece speaker not working have to use speakerphone

For some reason when I use my new Quickfire, I have to turn the speakerphone on to be able to hear. My earpiece speaker no longer works & I cannot figure out where to go to fix it. I haven't changed anything, so I'm not sure why it is doing this. Does anyone have any idea? Is anyone else having this same problem?

Great phone for price.

I see a lot of people are complaining about non responsive touch screen. When the phone comes out of your "sleep" it has to turn the phone back on again. It's like sleep for your computer, you have to give it 3seconds or so for it to continue working again. If it is not responding when that isn't the case you should return the phone for a new one. I have noticed sometimes it does get sluggish at a few points but it still works great. You shouldn't need to go so fast or be in dire need of checking txt messages or looking through pictures and such. It does respond quickly if you need to enter a phone number. The qwerty keyboard is nice but a tiny bit small if you have big fingers like I do, but I have gotten used to them. The speaker phone is decent and so is the ear piece speaker. The only thing I don't particularly like about it is, you can not use more than a 300kb mp3 as a ring tone. This phone is great for messaging and music, it wasn't quite designed for anything else in mine. Like all phones it supports email but they are limited, however you can add other providers to it. Most importantly the screen is very nice and big on this phone. The image is crystal clear and supports 240*320 pictures. It will play GIF animations in the picture viewing area but will not animate as your wallpaper.

AT&T Quickfire

I would buy this phone if you are not interested in the touch screen feature. I can get mine to work but only after touching it 4 or 5 times. VERY frustrating!!!! I'm taking mine back today, not sure what I'm going to get but this phone has got to go. I like the qwerty keyboard, but I can find it on other phones. I would save your money and buy something else.

POP3?

I got this phone on Friday and I still can not find where it has POP3 email set up. It has pre installed email providers but I use GMail and that is not an option. It is kinda hard to type on the little keyboard. The touch screen is not as responsive as the iPhone. On a 1-10 I give it a 5. Thinking of taking it back for a Motorola Q but not looking forward to the "restocking fee". The camera on the Quickfire is only 1.3mp and has no flash.

It is on sale here too - city of about 330K people

It is a really nice phone but I don't see a place to configure other pop3 email like Google and Charter. It is pre-configured with all the other common emails.

AT&T Quickfire

I got this yesterday and it is amazing. It has everything you could need. The AT&T Navigator, touch screen which works perfectly, full keypad, camera that works great, and dont forget the music. I love this so far and it is awesome.

Cheap anyone,,,?

Is it just me or does the phone look like it's made out of the cheapest plastic on earth? Looks to me like it could break after a couple days of normal use...

P.S. I don't know anyone that has thumbs small enough to even type on that keyboard except maybe for my cousin elf from the North Pole...

Nooo you got it wrong :) i

Nooo you got it wrong :) i droped mine many times still never broke its a good phone unless you have fat thumbs :) its fine actully its the best phone i ever had out of my 7 phones

Cheap any1

I got my phone 4 xmas & I love it. There r some things that I find frustrating @ times, but that's on all phones. Oh, & u now know some1 who can type on that tiny keyboard. ME. It took me awhile to get used to it, but I fly on that little board now. My biggest problem I have is getting the micro SD to work on my puter, so that I can pull up the pics I took with my phone. If any1 out there has any suggestions, feel free to let me know?.

Well...

You don't have to wait until its up, so long as you don't plan on changing carriers anytime soon mate =). If you need to switch, you can always pay a fee to cancel the contract later on. =O
